I loved taking the Memoir writing workshop with Alex. I was just getting back into writing, and her encouraging approach gave me confidence. The flash writing exercises helped spark ideas, the reading selections were inspiring, and I especially loved hearing and discussing stories from the other participants. I left with a better understanding of how to structure my writing and with the motivation to keep going.

I love your classes. I would not be producing finished work or revising without your class.

Alex’s “All About You” workshop was my first foray into creative writing. I loved it. The “zoom” based model works perfectly. Alex is a great teacher and writing mentor. I’ve already signed up for another course in the summer.

A couple of years ago I began composing a memoir, of my early life, for my two sons but found I became very disillusioned with the results! Then along came Alex, a true professional, who worked with me for several months and assisted me in preparing an excellent product that family and friends rave about. She is fantastic!

Thank you, Alex, for your work cultivating creatives and encouraging us to grow—you have a gift, a talent, and a passion that shines through. Anyone to come into any circle you form is the luckiest.

She inspired us to play, write and perform and she established such a supportive environment that actors and non-actors alike all felt free to dig deep within ourselves. It was truly a magical few hours.

I took "Finding Your Funny" with Alexandra through the Johns Hopkins Odyssey program in March 2022. She guided us with a gentle hand and great insight, coaxing us out of our shells and encouraging us to refine our material and performances to a level we didn't think was possible. That was my experience and I believe my classmates feel the same. My experience in her class was very rewarding.

Alex was great at facilitating the workshop and helping me tighten and improve my material. As someone interested in taking a more serious plunge into the world of stand-up, Alex has been an encouraging resource along the way.

Not only did I learn about what makes something funny, Alex's support and encouragement gave me the confidence I needed to stand up and do it! (pun intended) The experience I had in her course is a memory I will cherish forever.
