I'm here to help you craft your unique story and explore your creative potential.
Through my years of experience as a psychotherapist. studying acting, and working in the arts, I found nothing to be more healing than sharing one's story in an artistic way.
I've taught theatre, improv, and writing to children, adults, Veterans, patients in psychiatric hospitals, and produce a storytelling show where adults share their childhood diaries on stage. This is where people find laughter, a deeper understanding of themselves, and a connection with others.
My "publishing empire" began when I was 10 years old, when I created a typed weekly newspaper; my father was my only subscriber. This was also the time I began writing in a diary. This became my best friend and confidant.
Even now I write "Morning Pages" daily. I can't not write. There are always stories, monologues, and ideas in my head. Writing for me is a joy, an escape, and a passion. Completing my MFA in Creative Writing and publishing my first book: Shimmer is a dream come true.
Witness adults sharing their angsty adolescent archives during a Mortified Show or explore the story you have brimming inside you with a workshop!
Vanessa Eskridge
She inspired us to play, write and perform and she established such a supportive environment that actors and non-actors alike all felt free to dig deep within ourselves. It was truly a magical few hours.

I took "Finding Your Funny" with Alexandra through the Johns Hopkins Odyssey program in March 2022. She guided us with a gentle hand and great insight, coaxing us out of our shells and encouraging us to refine our material and performances to a level we didn't think was possible. That was my experience and I believe my classmates feel the same. My experience in her class was very rewarding.

Alex was great at facilitating the workshop and helping me tighten and improve my material. As someone interested in taking a more serious plunge into the world of stand-up, Alex has been an encouraging resource along the way.

Not only did I learn about what makes something funny, Alex's support and encouragement gave me the confidence I needed to stand up and do it! (pun intended) The experience I had in her course is a memory I will cherish forever.
